Christa's personal journey has shaped her into a devoted mental health advocate. Through her initiative, Out of the Dark: Mental Health Recovery for Youth, Christa works to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and empower others to embrace healing. She believes that strength is found in vulnerability—and that no diagnosis or struggle can define a person’s worth or potential.
Out of the Dark is a collective dedicated to educating and providing resources for young people entering into mental health and sobriety recovery. Through her advocacy efforts, Christa provides educational presentations to schools in Connecticut as a volunteer with NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. She donates gender affirming voice lessons to PRISM, an LGBTQ+ Mental Health Organization. She seeks to use her voice to uplift those in need of recovery.
